1.    Health Fair featuring vendors that serve the LGBT community.
12:30-3:00

2.    1:00 Seminar: Legal issues facing LGBT Individuals and Couples,
Presented by Connie Vetter, Attorney at Law and Virginia Hager, Attorney at
Law

3.    2:00 Seminar: LGBT Sensitivity Training for Health Care Providers.
SEAHEC will be sponsoring 4.0 hours of continuing education credits for
Nursing professionals.  CE credits are $15.

4.    3:00 Screening of “Gen Silent”, a critically-acclaimed documentary
from filmmaker Stu Maddux that explores the challenges of six LGBT seniors
who face the difficult choice of hiding their friends, their spouses, and
their entire lives in order to survive in the health care system.  Following
the screening will be a panel discussion about the movie and the realities
that LGBT individuals and couples face today in the health care system.
Panelists include: Stu Maddox, “Gen Silent” Director, Gillian O’Reilly, MSW,
from Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center, Rev. John McLaughlin, St.
Jude’s Metropolitan Community Church, Connie Vetter, Attorney, Eleanor
Covan, PhD, UNCW Gerontology, and Scott French from SAGE: Services &
Advocacy for GLBT Elders.

5.    The 3rd annual “Frankly Speaking” award will be presented to a Health
Care Professional that works tirelessly for the LGBT community.

6.    Booth space at the Health Fair is available for any organization or
business that are “gay friendly” and serve the LGBT community.  $50 for
non-profits and $100 for businesses.

7.    This is a FREE event to the public.

1.    9:00 & 11:00 am Open worship services at St. Jude’s MCC

2.    3:00-7:00 pm Level 5 at City Stage will sponsor a Tea Dance.

a.    Raffle Prizes, DJ Jay Tatum, Rooftop Dancing, Cash Bar

b.    Admission is $7.
